For almost thirty years, I have been making batch upon batch of my Scottish toffee this time of year. So many folks have asked me for the recipe that I am adding the link to last year’s post for the recipe.
I recently remembered that I had originally made this every Christmas using salted butter, and decided that the salt in the butter added the taste missing in recent years. The recipe has been updated to reflect the change.
Your recipe has been getting rave reviews! I will have to try it! Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays, Bevi, and thanks for all your support this year.
I am so glad you posted up a link for this, I really want to try it (probably after Christmas for me though..not complaining!). The photo is really nice and thank godness larry was able to stop eating the toffee so that you could get the photo shot!
Hope you get some – or I can mail you some after the holidays – honest.
Toffee has to be one of my favorite sweet goodies. This recipe rocks. Lizthechef rocks.
Hey, you, thanks for the Manhattan recipe!
I’m going to have to try this, Ive heard a lot about your toffee and now can’t get it out of my head. Thanks for the link to the recipe!
It is addictive. Period.
glad I’m not the only one who makes the same things year after year. why mess with a good thing right? i like tradition, it is what makes the holidays special. love love love your vintage photos, how sweet. i just posted some pics of my mom too. happy holidays, lovely to have seen you at greg’s .
Thanks for visiting – enjoy the holidays and hope to keep in touch…
I made this last week and it’s “hiding” in the freezer! I am relieved to know that you didn’t tamper with perfection.
Sorry I was so late to notice you in the food52 spotlight!
This looks divine! Perfect for edible gifts 🙂
Wow, Liz! This looks so good. I wish I had a tin now. Will definitely add this to the list of goodies to try over the next week or two.
I just finished my last batch of the season, Carol – whew!
I managed to snare two bites of this toffee when you brought it to my party.Good thing I did too because the toffee never made it to the buffet. It all got eaten somewhere between the kitchen and the dining room. It is world class. GREG
Will make sure you get a stash for next year – Happy Holiday X0
This recipe looks so very tasty…..thanks! Happy New Year!!!
