Grandma's Recipe of the Month: "BarBQ"

- 1½ pounds lean ground beef
- ½ onion, chopped
- 1 cup chopped red, yellow and/or orange bell pepper
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1½ cups ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- ¼ cup Meyer lemon juice, or any fresh lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Using a large skillet, cook the meat, onions and peppers over medium-high heat until the meat has browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add remaining ingredients, reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 20 minutes.
- Serve over hamburger buns or grilled bread.
