Under Construction

We have been on a roll these past several months, having some much needed work done on our 1922 Craftsman bungalow. How lucky we are to have an outstanding contractor who, over the past five years has done everything for us from a complete kitchen and recent bathroom remodel to hanging our new front door.

Recently, on somewhat of an impulse, we decided to replace our ancient and inefficient floor furnace, our only heat source during cold weather. Since San Diego summers have grown hotter and more humid, we also opted to have central air-conditioning installed.

Because we had a small window to get the work done, I have sandwiched the project between a few fall dinner parties. This means it will be a couple of weeks before I’m posting again, due to all the mess and disruption that the work will create. So, I wish all my readers a happy Halloween – I’ll be back in two weeks with a new recipe for pumpkin ravioli and a stunner of a cranberry cocktail to follow.

The door is just gorgeous. And so authentic to the era of bungalows, my favorite house design. It was so wonderful to finally see your charming, welcoming home and hope to do it again soon.
